Patient Care Provider Training
|
|
Patient and family education provided by the PCP means patients can take increased responsibility for their care. In addition, the presence of the PCP has a positive impact on patient safety, with both patient falls and medication errors being lower than the expected rate in a traditional setting. |
|
Home care typically refers to non-medical services that assist
individuals with the activities of daily living and daily duties. Our
Personal Care Provider training course will help you do just that. The
course is an introduction to the Home Health Care profession. The course
will touch base on the rights of patients in Home Health Care and
patient confidentiality. It will explain the different types of Advance
Directives and how to prepare for emergencies/natural disasters for your
patient. It will cover the standard precautions, infection control,
age-related issues, emergency first aid and home safety. By the end of
the course you will be able to assist clients with daily
activities/duties such as: accompany to appointments, personal/oral
hygiene, assisting with toileting and bathing, dressing, in and out of
bed, wheelchair assistance, medication reminding, meal preparation,
housekeeping, laundry, shopping and any other errands. After completion
of the course the PCP (Personal Care Provider) will receive a
Certificate of Completion from Stillwater College. |
